Marginal gains can make all the difference

Marginal gains can make all the difference

Similar to Olympic disciplines for human athletes, the winning margins in the thoroughbred industry are very small.

In fact, there is a 0.3% difference between first and second place in racehorses and just a 1% improvement in performance can mean the horse placed fourth will then win 75% of the time (flat) and 50% of the time (NH).

Racing trainer and vet Ilka Gansera-Lévêque knows only too well how small the winning margin is and how marginal gains can help. Have a read of this interesting article on the concept of marginal gains in racing and find out why more than 70% of the top racing trainers in the UK use Haygain.
