Is your horse on box rest?
Horses stabled for a long time can become bored and develop of range of stereotypical behaviours and vices (crib biting, weaving and box walking etc.)
Reducing the speed they feed at can help to prevent stable vices, and also improve the health of your horse.
Slowing down the pace of eating increases the amount of forage in the stomach, to create a protective mat against stomach acid and gastric ulcers.
The Forager slow feeder also increases chewing time and the flow of saliva which also acts as a buffer in the stomach against acid.
