The StableGraze allows horses to maintain this natural feeding pattern.

Its unique design includes three separate compartments, each holding up to 2 kg of forage. A user-friendly control panel allows owners to set specific times for each section to release, giving full control over feeding schedules.

What is Haygain StableGraze?

StableGraze is an automatic hay feeder designed to release hay in timed intervals, promoting natural, slow feeding behaviour for stabled horses.

How does it work?

Haygain StableGraze has three separate compartments, each holding up to 2kg of forage. You set the release times via the control panel, and each section drops open at the selected time to provide hay gradually throughout the day or night.

How is it powered?

The unit runs on a rechargeable 12V battery. Battery life typically lasts around 8 weeks, depending on use.

Why is slow feeding important?

Horses are naturally trickle feeders. Slow, continuous access to forage supports digestion, helps prevent gastric ulcers, reduces stress, and encourages more natural behaviour in the stable.

How much hay can it hold?

The feeder has three compartments, each holding approximately 1.25-2 kg of dry hay or up to 1.5 kg of steamed/soaked forage. Total capacity is between 4.5-6 kg.

How do I clean it?

Use a damp cloth to wipe the outside. To clean the chutes inside, use the manual open buttons on the control panel — but only for cleaning purposes.

How do I set the feeding times?

Use the simple control panel on the front of the unit. Choose between 2, 3, 4, or 5-hour intervals, then confirm with the power button.

Is it suitable for horses with laminitis or on restricted diets?

Yes. Haygain StableGraze allows for controlled feeding times and quantities, making it ideal for horses that need careful forage management, such as those with laminitis or metabolic conditions.

Can it be used with steamed hay?

Absolutely. Haygain StableGraze is a perfect companion to Haygain Steamed Hay, allowing you to provide hygienic, dust-free forage in a controlled, slow-release manner.

Is it easy to install and use?

Yes. StableGraze is wall-mounted and comes with full installation instructions. The control panel is simple to program, allowing you to customise feeding times to suit your horse’s routine.

Is it suitable for all horses?

StableGraze is suitable for most stabled horses and ponies. It’s especially useful for those on box rest, in rehab, or needing multiple small hay meals per day.

Can I add hard feed to it?

Yes, in small amounts and only on top of the hay — this allows the hard feed to be released gradually along with the forage.

Can it be installed outdoors?

No. StableGraze must be installed indoors or under shelter, away from rain or direct moisture.
